Takes my Breath Away...

I saw this old article on Architectural Digest and the home blew me away. Interior designed by Barbara Barry, the house was untouched for some time before the current owners bought it and restored it to its former glory (it was originally built in 1922). I love the grandeur and architectural detailing, and of course the formal landscaping!

Hmmm I can definitely see myself entertaining here and enjoying all that this property has to offer...how about you?!

Happy Weekend!

Great. Now I Have to Redo My Kitchen!

I only recently saw this December issue of Elle Decor and was mesmerised by this GORGEOUS kitchen! Now I simply must a) redo my existing kitchen or b) find a new property to renovate and move into or c) convince a client to take up a similar design or d) all of the above?

Again, it's the character and details in the features that makes the space so beautiful. And black grouting the subway tiles? Genius.

Happy Weekend!

Chic and Affordable Headboards

I love this idea of stencilling or painting a headboard onto the wall! It has just as beautiful an effect as an upholstered bedhead but it's chiconomical (chic, economical...get it?)!

Plump up the bed with patterned bedding and cushions and the look is HAUTE!

What are your thoughts?

Dinner, Anyone?

How do I love thee, let me count the ways! There's the blue lace, the chinoiserie, the Hermes...

I'm really in the market for a (few) new dinner or tea sets and these have my inspiration flowing. Wouldn't they make any table stunning? I love the idea of mixing and matching too, so that each person has a different setting in front of them. It adds an element of surprise and unexpected style.

I fell in love with these pics from the La Dolce Vita blog, but forgive me i can't remember the exact posts they came from. Of course i love the use of yellow, but also what lures me in are the pelmets in the bedroom and the huge peacock chair.

These looks are very fresh and airy which i love because it's further evidence that you can achieve this feel without using a neutral (boring) colour palette. (I mentioned this trend-away-from-minimalism is my most recent newsletter - email me if you'd like to subscribe)

Yours in style

Restored Beauty

I love this restored cabinet on Michael Penney's blog. It reminds me of one I have my eye on, only it's just a cabinet without a desk. Wouldn't this be perfect for an interior designer's work desk?

Happy weekend everyone!

I've only just discovered The City but I'm loving it and Olivia's style! She's so chic and sometimes a little eclectic, stunning. And the hair!! Oh the hair...beautiful.
