I am drooling over the pictures of Ivanka Trump's wedding - from her engagement ring and bridal gown, to the reception decorations, everything was classic and elegant. And what a beautiful bride she made!

But the real standout for me was the hanging wisteria at the ceremony. I am so enchanted with this idea that I might take inspiration from it for my own wedding...one day!

Beautiful Drum Shades

I'm eyeing these beautiful drum shades from Shades of Light. I love the colours and geometric patterns! I can just imagine them on some stunning bases in a library or bedroom...the options are endless!

Bright and Colourful and...YELLOW!

I was over at Chek the other day and fell in love with these pictures that Cyma posted. It just so happens that I have the Trollsta sideboard in yellow and will be using it in next year's renovation of the Raptis Creative Headquarters! So these beautiful images have served as some delightful inspiration.

It just goes to show that some pieces don't have to be worth a fortune to pack a punch. Economising IS possible!

Great Movie!!

My good friend Melanie and I went to see Mao's Last Dancer last night. A very moving story about the extraordinary talent of ballet dancer Li Cunxin, and his defection from China to the States. The dancing was incredible and the story was fascinating with high impact and drama. I realised at the end that I didn't want it to finish!

I highly recommend seeing it while it is still at the movies. It's a must see but be warned *tear jerker alert*...take Kleenex!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. I managed to catch up with some friends, go out for some drinks, go out for lunch, watch a movie AND catch up on some work..who knew you can fit so much into 2 days!

I wanted to thank you, my lovely readers and friends, for all your helpful comments and hints on where to locate whippet statues. I am following up every lead so I really do appreciate the time and effort you've put in to helping me! I'll certainly keep you updated on my progress :)

I'm on the Hunt...

for two whippet statues. I know, I know, to some people it's a 'fad' or a trend that has been done time and again...but to others (like me) the whippet statue is elegant and glamorous, yet shrouded in mystery - because I haven't been able to get my hands on one!! Let alone two.

(I'm speaking in terms of Australia guys, because of course the rest of the world has access to them in all sorts of shapes and sizes).

So imagine my excitement when we walked into the Winery in Sydney over the weekend, and there were 2 white whippets at the entrance!! The lovely staff there are now looking into where they came from and cross fingers it will be a lead in the right direction. To my disappointment, my girlfriend said 'if you put those in my place, I won't be happy'!

What are your thoughts on these decorative creatures? Hot or Not?

The Ivy Eludes Me...Again!

I can't believe I still haven't made it to the Ivy in Sydney. I have made 2 trips to the big smoke this year and both times I swore up and down that I would visit the glamorous lounges, restaurants and clubs that this amazing development has to offer.

But we had so many other things to do and see that time just escaped from us. For example, the Winery in Surry Hills had just recently opened and the interior was a fantastic fusion between old and new. We also popped into the Opera Bar after dinner at Wildfire at Circular Quay (most amazing food!!). Then there was the shopping in Paddington, Woollahra and the city, so we were a little wiped out after all that.

On the up side, I will just have to visit Sydney again soon so I can finally cross the Ivy off my list! Thank you for all your suggestions too, I really appreciate it :)
